15 cents worth of stories

if coins could talk.. what are the stories they would say.. if by touching them they could somehow transmit images of yesteryear to our minds.. what would we see?

that 20 year old coin sitting there.. traversing the country unadorned and taken advantaged of.. meticulously collecting the dust of times gone past.. seeping into its pores all that it has seen.. never to be known by anyone but itself.. unintentionally selfish

whose pocket did it sit in before, whose wallet was it travelling in? who was the man carrying this coin.. with which hopes and dreams rested on.. making the very thin seperation between happiness and shattered ideals?which fish monger's hands did it lie in, waiting to be given as change for a purchase of pomfret? who was the child carrying this exact coin.. waiting eagerly in line to buy his favorite ice ball desert.. what was his story? where is he now? how about the girl whose piggy bank was filled with ten cents coins of which this was one of them.. saving them up till the day it was enough for her to buy that pink dress she had her eye on for half a year.. how long did that coin have to wait in the cold dark confines of a porcelain prison shaped in the caricature of a pig? in which drug addicts grimy fingers did this coin touch.. desperately clutching on to the hope that he could scrounge up enough money on the streets to get his next fix.. how many lives have been saved by this coin? how many calls have been made with this coin? what were the conversations about?

out of all the coins in the world.. if one could tell its story..
