what is the purpose of emotions? who do they really serve.. it seems akin to the question of 'what is life?' a question of baffling importance and boundless scope.. open to a variety of responses and answers.. of theories and beliefs and ideals..

the answer i could come up with after hours of pondering was that emotions are there to make us feel alive.. to make us feel that something is important and worthwhile to feel such that we dont go through life feeling empty.. what is yours?
